The product is intended for dry baths for poultry.
Diatomaceous earth in the form of uneven granules with a grain size of 0.5 - 1.0 mm enables preventive protection against all insects (red mites, plumes, bedbugs). The soil granules are not very hard so they crumble when rubbed. Dry bathing of poultry in such soil causes to some extent a slight dusting and settling of diatomaceous earth on the feathers, on the litter and in the henhouse.
The natural shape of crystalline diatomaceous earth and its microscopic sharp edges cause physical damage to the outer shell of mites, leading to water loss, drying out and dying off. In addition, the high absorbency parameter of diatomaceous earth causes the drying of eggs or larvae of insects and mites, preventing its reproduction.
The action of diatomaceous change is a purely mechanical process and is not a chemical phenomenon, so there are no side effects when using it. Due to the crystalline structure of diatomaceous earth particles, inhalation by people should be avoided.
Diatomaceous earth is a natural mineral fired in a furnace at 650 degrees C, it is microbiologically clean and is not a chemical compound.
The product is intended for dry baths for poultry. The soil can also be spread on the litter as a preventive measure, ensuring drainage, absorption of toxins and partly faeces. Drying also has a positive effect on the condition of poultry feet. The land is safe for poultry and eggs. Diatomaceous earth itself is also used as an additive to fodder for poultry, cattle and pigs, due to its properties improving the condition of the digestive system - e.g. by removing parasites from it.
For mite infestation, the best form of diatomaceous earth to use is its dust fraction.
